I first made a sale of 1,200 BDT. By mistake, I recorded the same sale again for 1,200 BDT. Realizing the error, I processed a return for the second 1,200 BDT sale.


Logically, the total sales should be: (1,200 + 1,200) – 1,200 = 1,200 BDT.


However, the POS report shows Total Sales: 3,600 BDT, meaning the returned amount is also included in Total Sales.

It would be great if someone could clearly explain how Odoo calculates this and why Total Sales shows 3,600 BDT.

Hi Shakil,

In my opinion, this is clearly a calculation error at this point - the sign is not displayed and the calculation method simply adds up the figures. Furthermore, both the average price and the margin are calculated incorrectly—at the time of writing this post, the issue can also be reproduced on Runbot.

"I am currently encountering a calculation error when analysing orders via the menu item Reporting -> Orders.

As you can see from the attached screenshot, there is a calculation error in the Total Price, Margin and Subtotal w/o Tax. Some of the values displayed are incorrect without a sign, which is why the respective numerical values are added up. However, this is incorrect – signs must be taken into account to ensure accurate reporting.


This behaviour can be reproduced on the current 19 Runbot. An 18 Runbot system can be used as a correct example."

Thank you for reporting this issue.

I have created a fix to resolve this problem for refund orders. Once the fix has been applied to your database, I will let you know. At that time, I will also recompute the order line prices to resolve the issue for your existing refund orders.
