I know that I can encode machine startup und shutdown times on a work center with the fields "Time before prod." and "Time after prod.". However, I want to track the time for machine startup and shutdown as separate work orders. Now I don't manage to get a work order line which is fixed and independently on how many units the manufacturing order is about. How should I encode the work centers and routing to achieve this?
Example: Lets produce 1000 pcs and it takes 1.5 hours to start and 2.5 hours to shut down and cycle time is 1 min.
The work order should be:
Sequence; Work Order; Work Center; Number of Cycles; Number of Hours
10; Start the machine; Machine XYZ; 0; 1:30 (or 1000; 1:30, I don’t care)
20; Produce; Machine XYZ;1000; 16:40
30; Clean the machine; Machine XYZ; 0; 2:30 (or 2000; 2:30)
Now let’s say I produce 500 pcs with the same routing. The work orders should look like this:
10; Start the machine; Machine XYZ; 0; 1:30 (or 1000; 1:30, I don’t care)
20; Produce; Machine XYZ;1000; 8:20 (<----- This is the only line that should change)
30; Clean the machine; Machine XYZ; 0; 2:30 (or 2000; 2:30)
Could someone please tell me how to configure work center / routing in order to get this result?
When I try, the field “Number of hours” in work order line is always multiplied with units produced unless the field "Capacity per Cycle" on work center is converting to plus infinite which I think is a very strange setting to have.
Please help and thanks in advance.
