I have installed Odoo 19 Enterprise on premise.

In general I am impressed by the ease of installing and customizing.

However, I have one problem and I am wondering if I am doing something wrong or that it is glitch in the design of Odoo.

I have three Companies A, B and C.

I have configured for each Company a Standard Layout with the Company logo.

For each Company I want to define a specific layout change called a_layout, b_layout and c_layout. As such the code of each layout works.

My problem is that the code  of each layout is not  connected properly to the Company.

The following happens 

I  login to Company A and create layout-A with code A

I login to Company B and create layout-B with code B.

I login to Company C and create layout-C with code C.

Then I login to Company A and check the layout and I see the Layout of C again. 
In short: whatever I do but the layout used by Odoo is the layout which has been modified last.

What is wrong? To me it seems simple to configure that in each Company record as a propery.

Hi,


What you are experiencing is normal behavior in Odoo and not a mistake in your configuration. In standard Odoo (including Enterprise v19), report layouts are global QWeb templates, not company-specific records. This means that when you edit a layout while logged into any company, you are modifying the same underlying template for all companies. As a result, the last layout you edited is the one that appears everywhere, regardless of the company you are logged into.


Although company-specific data such as logos, addresses, and VAT numbers work correctly (because they come from the company record), the structure and code of the report layout itself are shared. Odoo does not provide a standard field on the company to link it to a specific report layout, so it is not possible to assign different layouts per company through configuration alone.

If you need different layouts per company, the standard and recommended approach is to use conditional logic inside a single layout, showing different sections depending on the company. The only other option is custom development to override report rendering logic, which is not supported out of the box and requires ongoing maintenance.
