I'm facing some challenges implementing Odoo in my poultry farm and would love your help.
Here's the process we follow:
- 1,000 fertile eggs go into the incubator.
- 800 chicks hatch, and the remaining 200 are discarded.
- The 800 chicks go to the fattening shed, but 100 die, leaving 700.
- Out of those 700, 600 meet the standards after processing in the slaughterhouse, and 100 are discarded.
- The 600 birds are packed in trays of 10 and frozen for sale.
My problem is how to perform batch tracking in Odoo. I want to assign a batch from the initial 1,000 eggs and have it follow through the entire process, including subproducts and waste.
Has anyone experienced something similar or can guide me on how to set this up in Odoo? Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Interesting case. I would propose to use inventory processing and different locations for each step.
Locations: Incubator, Fattening shed, Slaughterhouse, storage.
You enter 1000 eggs via goods receipt into location Incubator and give them one lot number.
In the transfer from Incubator you register scrap of 200 and confirm transfer of the 800 which is OK.
For every transfer from location to location you register scrap of what cannot be used.
In the last transfer to storage you also create the packages.
Through the whole process you keep the same lot number, and qty for the lot number is reduced by register scrap. You will have full traceability from start to end.
