Jared Kipe is the lead developer at Hibou, a US-based Odoo Partner. Hibou focuses on sustainable solutions, both out-of-the-box and through custom development, backed by enterprise-level support and user documentation. Hibou is also an avid contributor to the Odoo open-source community, OCA, and though their Hibou Odoo Suite: Hibou is the developer and maintainer of USA and Peru payroll localizations for Odoo.

What is it like to set up Payroll within Odoo for a company with two bases of operation? With the addition of our Hibou Peru team, we are making changes in our payroll process utilizing a combination of Odoo Enterprise functionality and introducing a new payroll localization to the mix: Peru!

We’ll start with an introduction to Payroll by setting up the localization for Peru within the Payroll application and discuss how to set up an employee’s contract.

- The Peru payroll localization works with Timesheet Entries, Attendance and Commissions
- Discuss the difference between 4th category workers and 5th category workers in Peru
- 5th category workers utilize the payroll form which allows you to set up an appropriate retirement plan
- 4th category workers do not need a retirement plan, but you may upload their exemption documentation to the contract’s Chatter
- Review full payroll setup with attention to common misconfiguration points

Issuing Payslips:

- Paying hourly by timesheets or attendance makes generating payslips quick and easy!
- Payslips can be emailed or downloaded for employee documentation
- Batches simplify multi-employee payroll runs
