Hello,

I am using Odoo 17 and I have the required modules activated (Sales, Projects, Timesheets). I would like to set it up so that:

  1. In a new quotation, I'm able to specify a project where the task will be created if the quotation is confirmed
  2. When a quotation is confirmed, a new task is automatically created in the predefined project.
  3. Each line of the quotation becomes a line in the timesheet associated with that task.

I have already checked the standard settings in the Projects module and enabled features such as "Timesheets on tasks". However, I am not sure how to fully configure Odoo to achieve the desired behavior.

I saw in the documentation that it is possible to create a task for each product. But this is not what I'm looking for. It makes more sense for my activity as a sale order is made buy a business unit and each business unit as their own project. So it is easier for my team to have their own project and each SO is a task of this project. But for that I need to be able to to create a task in a specific project from an order and add all the product line as a timesheet.

Could you please guide me on how to set this up?

Hi @Chris,

I did exactly as you suggested. But I'd have thought there'd be a simpler way of automatically adding a quote to the desired project.

Hi Arnaud

As no-one has responded, I'll try to help, but I don't fully understand what you need!

  1. You could have a project for a Business Unit and create multiple quotations all linked to that project (though that would need Automation Rules or minor customization to assign that Project automatically to all quotations).
  2. When you confirm each quotation, task(s) will be created in that project.  They can be for different customers.
  3. Then you can create timesheets against the task, and invoice that time against the sales order.

Does that help?  Or can you explain what you need.
