--workers in config.py ?

Hello
Can any one help me and tell me what do you means by --workers in openerp/tools/config.py
As I am using OpenERP for live and some times OpenERP system gets killed due to users log-in to openerp system through xml-rpc.
Please can anyone give me some idea suggestion for this.
Is there any configuration in config.py
