Hello all,


I need to update the account apps localization module, and seeing as we have made many updates and changes and customizations, I am wondering if updating the app will erase or change any of our changes?


We are running Odoo 17 online

The path is: Main Dashboard > Apps > Search for Module > Upgrade Button

After upgrading your module and you can see that you have made many updates and changes and customization.

When updating the account apps localization module in Odoo 17 online, your customizations might be affected depending on how they were implemented. Here's what to consider:

  1. Odoo Studio Customizations : Changes made through Odoo Studio (like fields, views, or reports) are generally safe during updates. They are stored separately and won't be overwritten.
  2. Custom Code/Modules : If you've added custom code (via custom modules or direct changes), these may be impacted. It's recommended to test updates on a duplicate/staging environment first.
  3. Configuration and Settings : Any custom configurations specific to your localization settings could be reset, so you should back them up or note them down before updating.
