Hi,

I have a customer who has a paper form that has information from the Sales Order, which follows the job around the factory, and one of the fields on the form is the Delivery Date, which helps the production team know the priority of the job. Instead of the sales team having to manually enter the Delivery Date, they would like to default the Delivery Date to be the same as the Expected Date and then can overwrite it if required. I do acknowledge that there are better ways than having a piece of paper travelling around the factory, but that's the process for now.

I think I could do this with an automated action, but I'm not sure how to configure it.

They are on v16e.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

You can use a simple Python expression:

	record.expected_date

I've written a lot more about Automated Actions if you want to learn what is possible.

That's excellent Chris, thanks so much. And what a fantastic resource your website is; I've bookmarked it and I'm sure I'll be a regular visitor. Many thanks for sharing your knowledge.
