I have created a service type product as part of a larger BOM.


Filled in the vendor details etc. and have clicked automatically re-order.


However when I run the product, no RFQ is generated for the service.


Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Hi,
Please take a look at available product types in Odoo

Services:  In Odoo, the services are also considered as a product. But the user can't keep the stock of a service.
Consumable: A product for which the user doesn't want to manage the inventory (no quantity on hand or foretasted) but that can be received from the supplier or delivered to the customer. Odoo assumes that the product always has enough stock.
Storable: The product which is managed with Inventory.
So service type product doesn't handle with inventory and inventory operations. You can sell and purchase the service type products. but there is no quantity or stock available in inventory.(But you can see the total number of sales and purchase of the product in the product form).

Reordering is an Inventory operation which is only for the storable products. Also you can't create a reordering rule for service type products. So, If you want to generate RFQ for this product, You have to do it manually.
