How to use OCA Upgrade for v11ce to v12ce

Question

I have had a good google around the topic and found some okay instructions on what to do but im still unsure of the process and havent been able to get it working yet.
This is my first time using oca upgrade.

To upgrade from Odoo 11 Community Edition (v11ce) to Odoo
12 Community Edition (v12ce), you can use the OpenUpgrade migration tool
provided by the OCA (Odoo Community Association). OpenUpgrade helps
safely migrate your database schema and data between Odoo versions.
