I am running odoo v15 on a Digitalocean droplet. This instance is was installed by someone else and is working fine. However I am trying to learn odoo and am confused between what is the config file of odoo?

I found '/odoo/odoo-server/odoo-sever.conf', which specifies just the password, port, log file and addons paths.

But I've seen multiple articles/manuals mention '~/.odoorc' which I do not have.

Should I generate it using '/odoo/odooserver/odoo-bin --save', or should I just leave it?

Is it necessary? Is it risky? I don't want to break my working odoo.

Hi,
It is not necessary to generate it and it wont cause you any problem, you can run with the odoo configuration file in /odoo/odoo-server/odoo-sever.conf

Thanks
