I would like to create a "dashboard like" view in Odoo 10 for 1 record of a model.

In my case, I want to have a dashboard for each customer (res.partner), showing informations (typically counts of relational fields records and link to tree view of relational fields. E.g. number of sales, contracts...) of the partner in a dashboard style view.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to switch from 'form' view of a record to 'dashboard' view.

I have found general information on custom dashboard views on the web, but it was always for dashboard/report for the whole model (like one can find for e.g. stock module dashboard), not a particular record.

Here are my ideas so far, but I'd like to make sure I am not missing something :

  • go low level and create my own view type (eg as explained here \https://www.codeproject.com/Tips/998870/Odoo-custom-view-module)
  • maybe find a trick to create a kanban view for only one record ?
  • maybe it is possible to have a general dashboard view, with a domain, that could be dynamically reduced to 1 record chosen by the user ??

Any suggestion would be much appreciated !

Hi Jean,

1. If you want to have the dashboard view for each record, better you should go with Kanban, by using kanban you can have the view like Dashobard,  this will be easier solution. 

2. Or else go with new type as you said in your question. Go and define new types for the model, which display record like Dashobard view.

If you create new view type, please share link when you make it complete :)

Can you please detail a little bit your point 1. ? ? 

I know how to use kanban view for a model, e.g. displaying all the partners in cards.

However, i am wondering how to make a kanban view to display fields of 1 record only, and switch from form detail view to kanban detail view of 1 record.


Example : 

If i have the tree view of res.partner, i want when i click on 1 partner in the list, that ot opens this new detailed kanban view for that record.

I miss that step where i suppose i should pass some domain and/or context from the tree view to the new kanban view.
