Connection Test Failed! Here is what we got instead: timed out

I am using auto_backup [1] module through test my sftp connection during error is throw.

The issue mentioned above is resolved.
On your remote server and SFTP server, port 22 (TCP) should be allowed (whitelisted).
To check the firewall port status in Linux, you can use the following command:
sudo ufw status
