Challenges Faced

Despite its robust technology offering, Axscend faced several operational challenges:

  • Underutilisation and high cost of their existing ERP system (NetSuite).

  • Manual financial workflows, including bank transaction uploads.

  • Lack of integration between their internal cloud platform and financial systems.

  • Disjointed project and order management practices.

  • Limited cross-departmental visibility into order fulfilment and scheduling.

Odoo Implementation

To modernise operations and reduce reliance on manual processes, Axscend initiated a transition from NetSuite to Odoo, focusing first on finance and CRM. The project aimed to:

  • Migrate financial data before the next ERP renewal in September.

  • Centralise quoting, inventory, project scheduling, and CRM within Odoo.

  • Replace disjointed tools like Outlook and informal trackers with structured workflows.

Key Enhancements

The Odoo implementation was designed to:

  • Streamline finance and accounting with automated reconciliation.

  • Improve CRM performance and sales forecasting accuracy.

  • Provide real-time insights into inventory and order status.

  • Lay the groundwork for future integrations with Axscend’s own fleet management platform.

  • Support potential upgrades in order fulfilment hardware (e.g., barcode scanners).
