In my MO the stock location of the raw material is used for feeding the order with components. At the end of the MO I see in the move history a booking of material of this location to the virtual/production location. Great! Perfect! Only the location has no stock. The intension was that the empty stock location would trigger a pull request as internal move from the warehouse to this location for the right material. Route, rules are there but no trigger to activate this operation.

Ah thanks!!! Yes OCA apps can help solving my issue :)) Lucky we are. That is the good side of Odoo!! My first thought was that I my configuration of the internal move prior to the manufactoring MO was not properly setup. An an internal move with a pull rule can trigger another route but only when the source is empty not the destination. But in my case the manufacturing route should trigger the new pull request from stock and that is in my opion not possible. (Or a customized action required)
That is correct, a route can trigger additional pull rule. If you use 2 step manufacturing it is possible to create the additional pull rule to stock from internal location if product unavailable in stock location.
With single step manufacturing you would need to use the replenishment menu to define the route to trigger and if the trigger should be auto/ manual

I am so happy with your answer. My english is not perfect so I translated replenishment.... That is just what I want and I see that there was already a replenish request in my administration.. So really helpfull!!!
Great, so if this is frequent you can change the trigger to ‘auto’
The only open end is that my route wants to pull from /stock but the product replenisment want to order from supplier. But that are just details :))

In Odoo Manufacturing (MO), when you confirm and process a production order:
Components are reserved from the raw material location defined on the MO (normally Stock/Components or whatever you set).
When you consume them, the system books a move from that raw location → Virtual Production.
But in your case, that raw location is empty, and you expected Odoo to create an internal transfer request (pull rule) from the warehouse stock location → raw location.
Instead, nothing is triggered, and the MO just sits there waiting with no stock.
