Hello everyone!


I've been working on a website using Odoo 16, and I used the Website application to create a page where I offer a free ebook to visitors. To receive the ebook, visitors need to enter their email address in a form. I've added the form and associated the action of pressing the "Submit" button with user subscription to a mailing list.


My question is: how can I configure the automation so that the subscribed user automatically receives the ebook in their email immediately after completing the form?


I've explored Odoo's Marketing Automation module, but it doesn't seem to have an option that matches what I described.


I would greatly appreciate it if someone could provide guidance on this.

I didn't know you could set a trigger of 0 hours in Marketing Automation. It's done now.

Hi Santiago,


Yes, I did. My solution:

  1. Crear a new mailing list in the Email Marketing Module, let's say: Ebook
  2. Add Newsletter block to your page and select the mailing list you have created in the previous step, so when the users enter their emails, they are subscribed to that list.
  3. Create a rule in the Marketing Automation module to send an email to every new subscriber to your mailing list. 

​Mailing lists = Ebook

4. Configure the Activity for the previous rule. 

Activity type: Email

5. Create or edit the content of the email in the section Mail Template.


And that's it.

However, emails take around 20 min to be delivered. I have not been be able to reduce this delivery time.

Hola. If you're on Odoo enterprise or Online, the answer is to create an automation rule on the mailinglist creation to send an email. This is the Automation Rule of Odoo accessible via Settings/Technical

If you're on community, automation rule is not available and you need some customization for this
