We have a customer who needs to keep track of products by both serial number and batch number at the same time. Because they buy by lot number, but when they sell they manage it by serial number.
Does anyone have any idea how to configure this case?

What you could do is to set up a manufacturing process (of type manufacture, not kit) converting a lot number tracked purchase item to a serial number tracked sale item. Your traceability report would look like this then:
However, I would rather advice you to give it a good thought why lots come in and serials go out. Is transferring to your stock while purchasing with serial number that much more effort or, for what ever reason, impossible?
Got a barcode on your goods? The barcode app could easily distinguish lot/serial parts while scanning.

They do this because when they buy, they buy by lots. But when they sale, they need to keep track of the products by serial number, as they sale security equipment. And they need to know what product they sold in case of any future failure
We have decided to manage this case by serial numbers. At the reception we will receive it by serial numbers entering the serial number and lot number together. By this way we track since the purchase to the sale of the two numbers at once.
