we use v15 on Ubuntu and the documents module. Uploaded files are indexed and available via fulltext search in indexed content (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) but not PDFs!
I have tried different PDFs, it never worked.
I searched a lot and found that the utlity pdftotext is used to index PDFs. Is this the case for v15?
How can I check what the probem is with PDF indexing? (I am new to Odoo)

Hi Johannes:
Odoo uses "pdfminer.six" to index PDF files. Check whether it is installed on your server. If not, you can install it using the following command.
pip3 install pdfminer.six
Also, make sure the "attachment_indexation" module in Odoo is installed. This module is dependent on pdfminer.six and provides the pdf indexation functionality. You can check whether it's installed by going to Apps and searching for the module.
Hello Samir, there is no error. I can upload the PDF. I can search for the PDF name and find it.
but searching for PDF content returns no results

If you go through your odoo logs, you will see this error:
odoo.addons.attachment_indexation.models.ir_attachment: Attachment indexation of PDF documents is unavailable because the 'pdfminer' Python library cannot be found on the system. You may install it from https://pypi.org/project/pdfminer.six/ (e.g. `pip3 install pdfminer.six`)
That was my first indication that this module was missing in my Odoo 16 installation.
