Jacques-André Eberhard is the Founder and Director of the Swiss company Open Net Sàrl, the oldest Odoo partner globally.
Active on TinyERP / OpenERP and Odoo since version 2, Jacques-André has more than 220 implementation projects to his credit.
Trained as an engineer and holder of an MBA, Jacques-André is committed to constructing an ecological and social transition economy.
Open Net Sàrl offers a module to calculate your carbon footprint, in real-time, with Odoo financial reports.
The principle is simple: it is about associating to any commercial transaction the quantity of CO2 already emitted during the manufacturing process or to be emitted during the consumption.
Carbon accounting has an opposite impact in comparison to financial accounting. A sale generating a financial income (credit) generates a carbon cost (debit). Indeed, selling goods and services negatively impacts the environment (in other words, a carbon cost). Conversely, the same principle applies to purchases, which generate a financial expense (on the debit side) but a carbon yield (on the credit side).
In practice, you have a balance sheet and an operating account expressed in kilos of CO2 instead of your reference currency.
This presentation is for anyone who wants to use Odoo's flexibility to get involved in environmental impact measurement without getting lost in carbon assessments.
This presentation is not technical. It is intended for managers who have to implement the environmental transition of their companies.
