The Strategies for Dealing With The New Sales Tax Landscape in the United States talk is relevant to any online retailer that conducts business in the United States. Presented by TaxCloud CEO David Campbell, a technology visionary and sales tax expert, the talk will begin by providing a brief historical primer on sales tax in the United States. Mr. Campbell will then discuss the recent Supreme Court ruling in South Dakota vs. Wayfair and how the ruling has changed how sales tax is administered followed by practical steps online retailers can take to understand new sales tax collection obligations they may have. For retailers that sell on online marketplaces, Mr. Campbell will then discuss Marketplace Facilitator Sales Tax laws and why retailers should pay attention to how their marketplace is complying with these laws (or not!). Lastly, there will be a discussion of resources that are available to online retailers to help them be compliant with the new sales tax landscape. After, completion of the talk there will be time for audience Q&A. Attendees should leave the talk with solid framework to allow them to achieve compliance with their sales tax collection obligations.
