How to set up simple clock-in/out procedure?
We have several employees who all use the same unit on our sales floor running as the POS. Is there a simple way to set up a punch card system that when an employee arrives can type in their name and it will log the time as their time-in and do the same for time-out? We want this to then be set up automatically as a time sheet since they are paid hourly based on their arrival and departure. We do not want them to have access to editing the times though, and do not need numerous steps to fill out forms, update, submit, approve, submit as payroll, etc.
i.e.: John arrives for work as a sales rep in the store. Open POS computer and types his code, and is clocked in at 9:00am. At 5:00pm he enters his code again and is clocked out. His 8 hours are then posted and submitted as working those hours. Accounting manager does not need to verify John's time-sheet and it is sent to payroll every two weeks. If John forgets to clock-in, he can talk to the manager who can clock him in for a previous time since he cannot access those options. When Kate arrives at 1:00pm, she can use her code on the same machine as John and clock-in for her shift without having to logout.
