Solution for car service company

Hello,

I'd like to use Odoo for car service company. I have planned the steps for car service as the following :


1. Customer walk in --> Register a new customer, car owner & make a new quotation (no products in the Order Lines yet) with the customized tab for problem & work requests from customer

2. Mechanics checks parts & services needed --> Add items to the quotation on the Order Lines

3. Customer approved --> Update the quotation to Sale Order

and then continue on Inventory.


But I'm stuck with the 2nd step. Some customers want to have 2 different quotations for the same car, one for new parts & another one for used parts. What should I do?

Hi,

Duplicate the quotation and update with alternate options only for customers requesting multiple options.

Option 2:

You might want to consider using CRM to manage this process.

Create a CRM opportunity to register customer and car details and you will be able to create multiple quotations linked to the opportunity. Once approved quotation updates to sale order. 

In both options above you can set expiration date on the quotations
