One of the products we manufacture are battery cables. I have a Custom Battery Cable Product with Attributes for Color, Wire Gauge, Length, Lug 1 and Lug 2. Based on the documentation and videos from Odoo, I set up one Bill of Materials for all of these Attributes, but I can't get it to calculate the cost or sales price properly.

The color really has no impact on pricing. The Wire Gauge and Length significantly influence the cost and sales price. Thicker wire has a higher price per foot and the length of the cable impacts the cost and price exponentially. The Value Price Extra doesn't really work for this as there isn't a fixed price difference for the length as the add on would depend on the wire gauge. This could work if I could set the Value Price Extra as a percentage instead of fixed price so that a Cable Length cost would double for a 2 ft cable. However, I wouldn't want the sales price to double. The labor cost to manufacture a cable is the same regardless of the attributes. But I don't want to double the sales price for a cable that is twice as long as the Wire Gauge and Lugs are a fixed cost.

Ideally, I would want to the product to use the "ft" UOM and select the length as the quantity on the sales order.

Is this possible? If so, how would you go about setting this up.

I am thinking that I may need to either create a new Product for each Wire Gauge or set up different BoMs for each Wire Gauge, and eliminate the Cable Length Attribute.
