Odoo Upgrade Team: Guiding You Through the Upgrade Process
Gil VolckaertBiten
Lionel entered the Odoo-sphere in January 2018 as a project manager for an Odoo partner in Indonesia, then in Vietnam. He joined Odoo Hong Kong early 2019 as a project leader, then started leading a team a year later. During his time in Hong Kong, he saw Odoo grow from 35 to over 200 employees, along with the company going through various phases of growth. Early 2023, he helped opening the Australian office as head of services. Down under, he oversees the recruitment of project leaders, facilitates the implementation of Odoo in the market and rapidly improves the product localisation in the ANZ region.
David joined Odoo in September 2022 as a software engineer. He has since worked in both the professional services and Research and Development departments, specializing in developing customized Odoo solutions for clients all over the world. In 2023, David took on the project of the Australian payroll localization and worked on the technical realization of the project. His daily work involves analyzing and developing tailored Odoo solutions for clients worldwide.
Since the opening of our office on the Gold Coast in January 2023, Odoo has made major progress on its localisation to the local market, more precisely in 3 key areas: payroll, taxes and shipping.
In version 17, you can now onboard all types of employees and create legally-compliant contracts: full-time, part-time, casual and working holiday makers. Create batches of payslips, send them to your employees and download the related ABA file to lodge and pay your bank in just a few clicks. Odoo will compute withholding taxes and super contributions automatically. In this version, you can also lodge a compliant SuperStream file manually to the clearing house of your choice. Finally, Odoo allows you to pay out return to work payments, bonus & commissions, and termination payments.
Thanks to the improvements on the payroll app, the BAS report is now updated with the new and compliant withholding sections linked to payroll.
Steering away from accounting and payroll, Odoo is now natively integrated with Starshipit, a leading carrier integrator in the ANZ region.
