Is there a reason why Odoo does not do controlled version releases? Grabbing the latest Odoo 16 from github is like grabbing a backpack and jump from an airplane hoping you grabbed a parachute. You never know what kind of bugs you might stumble into.

A perfect example how releases are handled is the Linux kernel. The process is pertty well described at the kernel dot org website Documentation -> A guide to the Kernel Development Process -> 2. How the development process works (Can't post a direct link due to some missing karma?)

Having a controlled release process would make Odoo much more stable
