I have a form in Odoo backend with fields 

Student name=Many2one  (res.partner)

courses=One2many fields  ('some other class' )

=========================================

In Website Form how to update this value from frontend to backend form 

In Website

Student Name= How to write this value to backend?

also one2many field values Courses ?

How I can update this to backend? ,need a help

Hi,

To Write the vale to many2one field from front end to back end, you will get the name of the student in the controller, then you have to create a record in the res.partner for this student by calling the create function of res.partner and then you have to pass this value of newly created record to the field. Same thing you can follow in the other case also.

This is a sample code,

 

add_student = request.env['res.partner']
student_data = {
    'name': name,
    'middle_name': middle_name,
    'last_name': last_name,
}
student_id = add_student.create(student_data)
print student_id.id

You can use this student_id.id to write to that field.

Hi Niyas, how to handle the form with the relation fields?

I try to make it like this in the form:
<input type="text" name="student_name"/>

but I got this error:
ValueError: Invalid field 'student_name' on model 'my_model'

how to handle related field Many2one on website form?

Thank you Niyas, I have solved this by added related attribute on my relation fields
