Continental Jewellery has earned a reputation as one of the world’s leading jewellery exporters. The current project is to develop a platform for their global Sales Organization that allows easy re-configuration of their product catalog item components and generate a new quotation for B2B customer confirmation. Each jewelry design included many component options including stone cutting and size, base metal, accessories and labor charges. The recalculation of the quotation prices is a complex process which must factor fluctuating material costs, related labor required, and different markup for each customer.For the Manufacturing Operations, the project is to enable a special stone material procurement process in their manufacturing operations. Jewelry stone procurement is bulk purchased raw materials which is then cut and extracted in many steps. During this procurement process the raw stone materials may go through multiple evaluation steps. Then for the approved purchase items the price is negotiated based on estimated yields. For the remaining, they may be returned to the supplier entirely or partially. The purchased items is then further refined into inventory items.
