In our Odoo 16 database we have no button "New Quotation" to create a quotation from an opportunity in the crm app. The appropriate space is completely empty. What setting might be missing?

thx for your message. The sales app is installed ofcourse. I did not mention that, sorry. I can create quotations from the sales app, but I had no button "New quotation" within the CRM app.

In the end I filed a support ticket and came to know that the sales app did not install all of its dependencies. I was told to search for the "sale_crm" module in "Apps" (remove the "Apps" filter) and to install it. That fixed the issue.

This is unusual as there isn't any configuration to enable this. If you have any 3rd party app's installed maybe you want to check those. The other way is to try to link a sale order to an opportunity and validate if the smart button is visible and create quotation button is enabled.

I guess one of the conditions is met that makes button invisible.
To be able to view and create quotation/ sale order, you would need the sales app to be installed.
