I've tried everything to get this thing up and running. The version I installed it whatever came from the odoo website4 today. I'm getting pretty frustrated. It shouldn't be this hard.

not sure why this happens, if you have custom modules in the path, remove it from conf file and restart the service and try
all I did was download the Debian package from the odoo website and ran the Debian installer. I have no idea what you mean.
I give up. This is terrible. No help and not possible to install. I tried everything. No luck. I even reinstalled the server from scratch (fortunately its a Debian test server). I got a phone call from some salesman shortly after I downloaded this software. Put more into development and less into sales!
