Open Source Integrators Managing Director, EMEA, Daniel Reis and Burr Oak Tool Vice President of Business Development Jason Halling will discuss the advantages of Burr Oak Tool's migration from Microsoft Dynamics AX to Odoo Enterprise v14. Burr Oak Tool is a 75 year old company that makes machines for heat exchange manufacturers that cost in excess of $1 million. The manufacturing process requires implementation of Master Bills of Materials (BOMs) built from numerous intermediate manufacturing orders.

A key Burr Oak Tool management challenge is keeping track of the manufacturing budget to maintain margin profitability and track the percentage of WIP complete along with variances to the original manufacturing budget. The solution was to build an Odoo enhancement that tracks and reports on WIP for each component, integrated with the Odoo Accounting module. The feature allows Burr Oak Tool to see if manufacturing operations take more or less time than forecast, if more or less raw material components are used than expected and numerous other metrics in real time.
