Maisam Steel Mill

Maisam Steel Mill (MSM), established in Kabul in 2009, is Afghanistan’s first IEC/ISO 9001:2015 and IEC/ISO 45001:2018 certified steel manufacturing company. Operational since 2010, MSM has grown to become a national leader in the industry, overcoming economic and political challenges while contributing to Afghanistan's economic development by creating jobs and promoting local production.

With a highly experienced management team, MSM currently produces up to 336 metric tons of steel daily, including steel rebar, angles, and T-bars. Initially serving only Kabul, MSM now distributes its products across Afghanistan and plans to expand further by introducing I-beams and H-beams, and eventually exploring iron ore mining within the country.

From 2012 to 2017, MSM partnered with USAID’s ABADE program, employing over 200 youth and enhancing product standards. MSM’s long-term vision is to achieve international competitiveness and further contribute to Afghanistan’s industrial self-reliance.
