Barcode reader error on Zebra mobile scanner device (And other mobile scanners) in Odoo 16.

This bug only occurs in the Odoo 16 version. This issue is caused by the way the Zebra mobile scanner device (and other mobile scanners) currently read barcodes in the Odoo 16 databases.


We have to modify the way the device is capturing the barcodes using the barcode reader settings.


Steps to solve this problem:


1.-Go to the "DataWedge" application within the mobile scanner


2.-The "DataWedge" Profiles section will display


3.-Select the profile used for the scanner


4.-Go to the “Keystroke output” section


5.-Select “Key event options”


6.-In the characters section » Activate the option “Send characters as events”


7.-Use the scanner again

This no working on Odoo 16 and odoo 17 even in the mobile aplication this a HUGE problem that odoo has on those versions

Any update on the Honeywell Scanners? Zebra is working, but we use Honeywell CT40XP too
