When  Odoo receives an incoming message that includes a CC that is not a contact, The resulting notification to the followers ( including me) is striped of  this new individual e-mail address. 

Leaving me no way to even add them as a follower manually to become part of the "thread". 

I thought this information would be logged somewhere ( developer >manage messages) as the cc should be “ingested” initially by Odoo from the original message,  but I can’t find it anywhere.

If you using your own email servers** this might work:

  1. Setup an Email Server rule (outside Odoo, via your email service) that FORWARDS all emails sent to the catchall alias instead of allowing replies to come through "normally".

Instead of the regular reply, Odoo will receive an email with the complete header which will show all additional information.

The Chatter will then look something like:


Note that all followers will receive a notification of the reply with the same information.
