His optimism is infectious, and it is this unique trait that empowers him to tackle and overcome any challenges that come his way. His love for what he does is evident in his work, making him an asset to any project he's involved in.
Odoo is the business software with the most 3rd party apps in its wide and growing ecosystem. One app out of that huge collections we used in the past was a connector that allowed to interface with Amazon's Vendor side of the business.
The Vendor program works quite differently from the Amazon Seller program that is already integrated in Odoo Enterprise automatically. Instead Amazon orders our products in bulk and expects swift and professional responses and accurate data for each pallet delivered to keep it's own warehouse processes streamlined.
The app we've been using in the past used EDIFACT to connect to Amazon's legacy APIs. But when migrating to a newer version of Odoo we were out of luck, the app was not only not migrated to the newer versions, but completely retired from the market place. And we could in fact understand why.
But Odoo doesn't need to be stuck in the technological nineties. Nowadays we have GS1 XML that replaces EDIFACT and is a lot easier to set-up and use. Also we do use GS1 XML already in many other situations where we interface with customers to receive orders and ship goods and invoices, vendors where we send orders, receive products and bills and 3rd party logistics providers where all worksflows are already integrated through the same standard.
"So why should it not be the standard way to connect to Amazon Vendor too?", we thought. And so we just did that. Even more than once.
In this talk we will be showing you how our customer successfully rolled out managing the Amazon Vendor program directly in Odoo using a relatively simple and standardized GS1 XML interface.
