Ministry of Health
The Ministry of Health in Puntland is the government body responsible for developing, regulating, and overseeing public health and healthcare services across Puntland State in Somalia. It leads efforts to improve health outcomes, expand access to quality care, and strengthen the health system in all nine regions of Puntland through policies, planning, and implementation of essential health services—including primary care, vaccination campaigns, emergency preparedness, and health infrastructure development. The ministry’s priorities include scaling up basic health and nutrition services, enhancing access to essential medicines, improving health governance and human resources, and supporting health information systems and financing to move toward Universal Health Coverage. It works closely with international partners such as WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, and other
