Michael Kröppelien works in the project management department at Intero Technologies. His tasks include the recording and documentation of customer requirements, the planning and monitoring of the technical implementation of these requirements as well as the coordination and implementation of configurations on Odoo customer systems. In doing so, he has acquired a broad spectrum of knowledge of Odoo Apps, which forms the basis for his consulting activities at Intero Technologies. His many years of experience in sales, online marketing and his knowledge of various ERP systems from different providers complement the know-how of the state-certified business economist.

Insufficient or missing protection of user input and data maintenance can lead to problems in various Odoo process flows, such as poor data quality or even errors due to incorrectly maintained fields. Often, the Odoo logic is intervened here with appropriate development to better manage neuralgically important user inputs and minimize incorrect entries. Popular examples of this are the subsequent definition of mandatory fields or the setting of controls and dependencies to other fields. In order to maintain the Odoo standard and at the same time establish input controls without costly development, Intero Technologies GmbH has developed a technical base module that has been used by various customers. The so-called Intero warning module enables the free definition and configuration of rules for the input of data and the maintenance of fields. Here it is possible to create blocking or ignoring warning rules in any Odoo standard modules for the fields used there. Messages and warnings can be individually and also graphically designed using the QWeb technology available in the standard. The entire configuration of such rules can be done by technically trained users with appropriate permissions using a graphical interface. In addition to individual warning rules, chained inspection rules can also be defined for complex process sequences. In addition, the Intero warning module also offers extensive report options in order to obtain an overview of the rules or rule chains that have been set. The presentation is aimed at companies that want to implement individualized input protection in Odoo with minimal programming. The talk will be held practically on an example system. The module and possible configuration options will be presented live.
