Thibault Colon joined the company in 2011, initially handling the exportations, then HR and operations. After 10 years inside the company, he worked on the implementation of Odoo for 2 years, in every step of the implementation to the go live, and after.

Thibault is now the CEO of Colona. He is part of the fourth generation of this family-owned business, which was set-up in 1963.


Colona is a family business set up in 1963. Our main activity is the manufacturing of cold emulsified sauces, such as Mayonnaise, Ketchup, and other special sauces such as Andalouse. We employ 250 people, and the turnover is over 100 million €.

As a food process company, we used 6 different software with multiple encoding, and had no wms program. We worked for more than 1 year on the preparation of the implementation, which resulted in a big-bang go-live: Sales, Accounting, Manufacturing, Stock, PLM, Procurement,…

We faced many challenges, with the help of our partner, Nalios and our Key Users:

  • Creating the database: more than 1600 products, 4500 components,  5000 BoMs (up to 4 layers), 4000 MO/week
  • Reflecting, simplifying, and testing all the workflows (manufacturing, picking, delivery, subcontracting, dropshipping, …)
  • Creating the custom EDI app
  • Linking printers and scales through 12 IoT’s
  • Change management and the training of 250 users, who were using pen and paper !

+ some bonus quick wins: projects, recruitment, marketing e-mails, dashboarding, …

6 months later, Colona is now a full Odoo company !
