The story of Selmani Factory is a remarkable testament to resilience and innovation—an inspiring example of the classic adage “from zero to hero.” Founded in 1994 by a visionary entrepreneur in the wake of Albania's transition from communism, the factory began as a modest distributor of construction materials. Within just four years, it quickly evolved into the country’s first hot-dip galvanising and tank production facility, establishing itself as one of the largest in the Balkans.

As the years progressed, Selmani Factory exceeded the manufacturing capabilities of the local Albanian market, expanding its reach into European and global markets. The company has set new standards in production and construction within Albania. Recently, it has significantly broadened its offerings to include metal construction and road barrier production, further solidifying its position as a leader in the industry.

At the helm of Selmani Factory is its founder, a true leader who prioritises the factory's value proposition and fosters a familial atmosphere for his team. His perseverance, dedication, and hard work have shaped the company into what it is today, creating a unique culture where employees stay for decades. It’s not uncommon to find team members who have been with Selmani for over 24 years, a rarity in the Albanian market.

When we first engaged with the CEO, the objective was clear: the factory required a comprehensive platform capable of managing all departments while generating detailed business intelligence reports to inform strategic decision-making. The CEO, who holds an advanced degree in Business Management from Austria and possesses extensive industry experience, is committed to elevating the factory's operations to compete effectively in Europe. He has inherited the best values from his father, who remains the president of the company.

The existing local accounting software was insufficient to support the factory's growth and the CEO's vision. Our task was complex, requiring the implementation of multiple applications to create a full cycle that encompasses all administrative and production processes. The galvanising process presented unique challenges that demanded tailored solutions. One of the significant hurdles was developing an integrated human resources solution that accurately reflected daily job tasks and payroll. Different workers performed varying tasks each day, necessitating a robust and adaptable system to manage compensation.

As Odoo partners, we were committed to delivering an exceptional ERP implementation experience. A key success factor was the active support of the CEO, who served as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the project. We dedicated extensive time to gap analysis and on-site observations, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the factory's operations. Our efforts resulted in the successful implementation of Odoo modules covering all aspects of the factory, including CRM, sales, purchasing, document management, manufacturing, product lifecycle management, quality control, maintenance, dashboards, HR, and payroll.

It is worth noting that Selmani Factory is part of a larger group that includes various companies, such as a construction firm and the only Hilton Hotel in Tirana.
