DADTCO Africa manufactures cassava - an African starchy root - into gluten-free tapioca starch. Rachelle Grobbelaar, Finance Executive, says, “We have recently sold the business. We developed the business through the Greenfields stage, setting up factories in Mozambique to sell into SA, and in the Ivory Coast. As we were in the Greenfields stage, we used Odoo purely for accounting.”
She says, “We choose Odoo because we work with various foreign currencies and languages. Other ERP systems couldn’t cater for French, Dutch, Portuguese and English, while Odoo could.
“We are satisfied with the system, there were some things we wanted that it didn’t offer, and we worked around those, but languages were the biggest thing. Using Odoo I could view documents, like our General Ledger that is in Portuguese, in English. I would definitely recommend Odoo for smaller businesses, it’s easy to use, easy to understand and follow.”
