Buck Gardner & Rolling Thunder Game Calls

Based in Memphis, Tennessee - Southern Hunt Club is an outdoor recreation holding company with two subsidiaries: Buck Gardner Calls and Rolling Thunder Game Calls. Both subsidiaries manufacture game calls (devices that mimic animal calls for recreational hunters). These devices include duck calls, turkey calls, goose calls, and so much more.

Daily operations of manufacturing and shipping consist of: CNC, product cutting, milling and lathing duck calls, laser engraving, pad printing, hand-tuning, and other necessary tasks.

Key Challenges & Requirements

Southern Hunt Club used Quickbooks to manage their system, and it wasn’t long before they realized that the software was more of an accounting platform - not an all-in-one ERP system. 

As a manufacturing company that also handles distribution, this was a problem. Furthermore, all their processes were spread out on different platforms, which made it difficult to track information, and ultimately hindered their decision-making.

What the company needed, on the other hand, was simple enough. 

Southern Hunt Club wanted to implement a platform that could do what Quickbooks couldn’t. This meant their ideal ERP solution needed to track cost of goods sold (COGs), labor, and everything in between - all in one platform. Centralization was key in this situation. In addition to that, the company wanted something that was both affordable and scalable.

The Implementation

While searching for the right ERP solution, the team at Southern Hunt Club discovered Odoo, and instantly knew they had found what they were looking for. 

Not only was Odoo an all-in-one platform (housing multiple modules under one roof), but the software was also affordable and scalable - just like they wanted. The Bista Solutions team worked around Southern Hunt Club’s schedule. The actual implementation consisted of the following modules: CRM, Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Manufacturing, Accounting, and Barcode. There were other minor additions, as well, such as: fully-customized reports under Inventory and integrating Shopify into Odoo.
