Damien first worked at Odoo from 2014 to 2020, and held several different positions in that time: developer for the Odoo.com platform, for the Odoo product itself, worked on upgrades and at technical support then finally as team leader for a development team.
After a 'Odoo-hiatus', Damien came back to Odoo in 2022 as a Product Owner, helping to shape the future of the Odoo product.
Wouldn't it be marvelous to avoid rendering the same page fragments over and over? Do we really need to read the entire website menu layout from the database upon each request? Up until now, this was not possible with Odoo.
In version 16.0, we introduce fragment caching in Odoo - a way to cache partial website page fragments for faster response and dramatic performance increase.
This talk aims to introduce you to the concept of fragment caching as well as provide the basic blocs to start using it in your website-facing apps.
