Some users see the studio icon in the systray while others do not. I want to know which users /groups are allowed to create odoo studio customizations? How do I configure access to studio app as there are no user groups associated with it - at least i could not see any in the access rights
Odoo is the world's easiest all-in-one management software.
It includes hundreds of business apps:
- CRM
- e-Commerce
- Akuntansi
- Inventaris
- PoS
- Project
- MRP

I believe the question was intended as how to create a user group specifically for the studio? good question!
Hi,
To hide the Studio icon in the systray based on the user group, you can set a condition for the systray icon that checks if the user is in the user group specifically created for Studio. This can be achieved by inheriting the systray view.
First, create a user group dedicated to Studio access. Then, in your custom module, inherit the systray view and add a condition based on this user group to control the visibility of the Studio icon.
Hope it helps

Ricardo is right. I do not want all users with admin/settings to access the studio. I want very specific people to be able to use it and hence would like to create a group for that. But since studio sits in the systray instead of a regular menu like other apps, I am unable to assign user groups to it.
Also, I could not find any option in user settings where I could assign a user to operate studio (or restrict studio)
Any solutions? Perhaps there is a way to assign user groups to items in the systray?
did you find a solution?
