How to move Odoo Data into new server, without any modules?

Hello,

I am quite new for Odoo erp stricture. I don't know that is possible or not.
We have Odoo 11 version of 2017 release. And a lot of duplicated modules. So I would like to organize modules and update into latest version of 11.
Is that possible run latest version of Odoo 11 without any custom modules. and then point into existing Database?

*Yes*, it is possible to *update *your server with the *latest version *of Odoo 11. You can update it with your *database *also. You need to follow these steps:
Take the backup of your database (For recovering data in case of any loss).
Pull the latest code and replace it with the old one.
Restart the server.
Upgrade the base module (It will upgrade all the installed modules).
Your data will be updated with the latest version of Odoo 11.
