I have configured email account from settings , but leads are not generating when fetching mail .

settings-->general settings-->configure then incoming mail gateway-->Create-->new-->Actions to Perform on Incoming Mails -->Create a New Record --> Lead/Opportunity, confiqure the Mail settings and fetch now. follow this procedure it will work.

I have got this warning : Connection test failed!

Here is what we got instead: None.

gmail server server type : POP Server Server name: smtp.gmail.com port: 995 SSL/TLS mark yes login information username and pasword put and fetch now it will work...

Do we have to click on fetch everytime to get the leads from mail ?

put schedulers concept.

I don't understand how leads are generated here: 

How do Odoo populate name, firstname etc... field ?
