Hi ( Avoid unnecessary introductions :P ), in Odoo v8 I setup incomming and outgoing email.

When I leave Alias domain empty I can send emails.  When I put the Alias Domain it does not work.

General Settings >

  • Manage multiple companies checked

  • Alias Domain :  mydomain.com

Currently I have only 1 user administrator@mydomain.com and 1 company MyDomain. 

The error in the logs :

MailDeliveryException: (u'Mail Delivery Failed', u"Mail delivery failed via SMTP server 'smtp.office365.com'.\nSMTPDataError: 550\n5.7.60 SMTP; Client does not have permissions to send as this sender")

Any suggestions (asside of leaving Alias Domain empty)?

Other Aliases for the same owner are info, sales, jobs, _usertemplate (default ones) and administrator which is created from the user preferences page.

Update on the issue,
Created a sencond user, added an Alias for the second user under Settings> Technical > Email > Aliases

  • Aliased Model : Users

  • Record Thread ID : 1

  • Default Values :{}

  • Alias Contact Security : Everyone

  • Owner :Second User

  • Parent Model: Users

  • Parent Record Thread ID: 1


Attempted to send emails with the second user but I got the error:

SMTPDataError:550  5.7.60 SMTP; Client does not have permissions to send as this sender

The first user is still able to send emails without errors.

Installed SMTP Server Per User module (By ThinkOpen Solutions Brasil).  Set another smtp server and selected the second user as the owner, after that the emails were sent without problems.
