Re: Migration tools from another ERP?by
I subscribed to Greg's site for a while and enjoyed many great videos he posted, including the one you mentioned. Indeed his examples for using vs bypassing the ORM were very enlightening!
My tables will be available in csv format so your idea of pushing them in with my own script would be doable.
Would any of your python scripts be available on Github (or elsewhere)? I'm sure they would provide a big jump start.
I'm also quite taken with the migration module created by Anybox ( https://bitbucket.org/anybox/anybox.migration.openerp ). They use csv files as an intermediate step in their transition.
I'm thinking a bit of R&D into the Anybox code might help others who are moving to Odoo with many csv files. My hope is that they'd would only have to define their yaml files and the "From" tables would just be the various csv files.

Hello We currently have a closed source ERP. I'm wondering what tools my fellow community members use to migrate from existing ERP systems? (Talend? Odoo's web Import? Custom modules?) During our transition phase I hope to replicate from the closed-source ERP to Odoo each night to help with training. The manual web import screens make that almost impossible (too slow, and manual) so I'm hoping for other "tried and true" options. Does anyone have a list of the order of dependencies for all main apps? Thanks Michael Watchorn
