Hello Johan,

Please have a look at the requirements on MPS (req #117 to #127):

As far as I understand, it answers your concern.

Regarding this topic:

>>#??? new chapter:  Bill of distribution (Johan 2014/09/09)

>>In a distribution network the sourcing rules need to be defined: eg "product A in warehouse X is replenished by truck from plant/warehouse Y with a lead time of 7 days". Multiple sources of supply can defined for a single product and destinaion location, in which case each bill of distribution needs a priority. The bill of distribution also defines the transportation mode (eg train, truck, plane), and multiple transportation modes for the same product-source-destination are possible since they will have a different lead time.

>>A certain product-warehouse combination can be replenished in multiple ways: either produced locally using a BOM, either purchased externally from a supplier/subcontractor, either replenished with a BOD shipment from another warehouse.

>>Can't this be managed with the WMS in v8 already?

The answer was:

>>Related to stock not MRP

I don’t agree on this.

Imagine a network:   distribution center -----replenished from--->  regional distribution center ----replenished from----> factory.

I expect that I can run an end-to-end planning of a requirement.  A big demand on the distribution center should get propagated through the regional distribution centre and can create material requirements in the factory.

So, I see this goes broader than the stock module in my opinion.

It expands the MRP concepts into DRP, “Distribution Requirements Planning”.
