Hello Ben,

The MRP is not planned for version 7 nor 8. It will be released when it will be ready. It is not possible to tell you when today as nobody knows what needs to be done.

If we want to be optimistic : version 9, otherwise version 10, but this is not a commitment.

Hello all,

I'm new, but I'll add my thanks for this initiative. I've been following the recent WMS/MRP discussions very closely, because my company is getting ready to start using Odoo v8 and these modules will be very important for us.

I have a question about how to add suggestions/comments to the discussion that are version specific. I know that Maxime stated the target version hasn't been decided yet, but I'm a little concerned at that answer. The WMS/MRP capabilities between v7 and v8 seem rather different (at my company we didn't even consider v7, because we have to face government auditors and the full traceability in v8 was necessary). So the question of "What's missing?" would probably have very different answers depending on which version you're targeting.

As an example, I want something that is similar to #19 on the spreadsheet:
Get the actual cost of a product including production costs and components costs (supplier price, landed costs)
Only I want this as a new costing method, maybe called "Actual cost", that applies to everything the product ever gets used for. Technically, this would essentially remove the product Cost Price (product_template.standard_price) from use, and instead always use the cost of the related quant. This would help my company with keeping full FIFO traceability on everything, and correctly figure the *exact* cost of all manufactured products. Except the concept of quants doesn't exist in v7 (as far as I know, please correct me if I'm wrong). So what's the best way to make a suggestion like this, that seems to be version specific? Should we be trying to mash all requirements for both versions into the same document?

Ben Olsen
