Re: Reference - Mission Citical, High Volumeby André P.<firstname.lastname@example.org> - 11/10/2014 03:35:02
Hello Kevin,by now, Odoo can accommodate to high loads of concurrent users by scaling horizontally, spawning more workers to more CPU's. Even if doesn't honor " the 12 factors" everywhere (some disk access like in the filestore) and that making a cluster isn't trivial (though really not impossible), today it's not too had to find a server with 8 or 16 cores and that will handle your load.I don't mean there wouldn't be some corner cases that may require some expertise, but I would say at least 10-20 integrator companies are able to do what you need so it's not doing a miracle anymore. So number of concurrent users is easy to scale and the server of the Odoo company is a good proof of it (but there are many more), but you need to pay much more attention to volume of data and more importantly the average number of transactions per seconds at peak usage, specially transaction involving business object having a workflow (like sale orders, invoices, pickings...). For instance 500 sale orders a day is doable without changing the code. But more than that will require good engineering and more than 2000 orders a day will require an engineering with a lot of experience with Odoo. Because this currently doesn't scale well horizontally and require code optimizations. As for the number of reads per second isn't really important as it scales very well.Hope this helps.--On Sun, Nov 9, 2014 at 11:17 PM, <Kevin.McMenamin@solnet.co.nz> wrote:
I have a potential client who will have about 20 users most of the time but on occasions they carry out activities which involve scaling to 700 users and where performance and reliability and critical. Does anyone have an references which might help (this is a Government agency but does not need to be Government). The reference does not need to have the same profile, but significant number of transactions where up-time & application performance are critical.

You can fill access rights in menu "Settings/Technical/Security/Access control list" and then export it to the CSV file. Maybe after this export you need to change this file a bit, for example to change "True" and "False" to 1 and 0, etc.

there is a module or a tool that can help the creation of the ir.model.access.csv files?
